Young cyclist injured in collision

A YOUNG cyclist has been taken to hospital after his a motorist collided with his bike last night. (Wednesday)

The 11 year old boy was injured after a red Ford Mondeo collided with his bike at the junction of Breakspear Road North, Harefield and Gilbert Road, Harefield, close to Harefield Football Club.

Both ambulance and police were called at 6.20pm where the youngster was taken to Hillingdon Hospital with leg injuries.

i know the boy, his name is Mark Lake and he goes to my school, we are friends and i live near to where the accident occured, he is 11 years old and he goes to the harefield academy

I was the driver involved - Mark is back home with his leg in a cast. I just spoke to him and he sounds fine, despite the leg. He's a tough little lad.

Thanks to everyone that assisted at the scene, it's good to see that the local community pulls together when things like this happen.
